GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. Conditions of enrolment
Minimum 18 years of age
Valid Passport
For the “au pair” status, students must obtain an agreement of placement from the family who will employ them. Families can be found either by one’s own means or through specialised agencies.

2. Insurance
Students are advised to take out supplementary insurance to cover the duration of their stay in France.

3. Certificates of pre-enrolment and definitive enrolment / " au pair " Status
Enrolling on an au pair programme gives you the right to a certificate of pre-enrolment of 10 hours per week. This document is required by students from countries outside the European Union and who wish to apply for a visa or a work placement. For further information on requirements to be met, we advise you to contact the relevant authorities (French Consulate, the Department of Work and Employment, Immigration Authorities, au pair agencies)
All students who are not au pairs must be enrolled on a minimum of a 20-hour course in order to qualify for student status once in France (see our intensive courses programme).

4. Payment and confirmed enrolment

IMPORTANT: pre-enroled students have a place guaranteed in a class until September 16th 2008 only. They can choose their times according to availabilities.

After enrolling, the student will be invited to take a test ofevaluation as soon as they arrive in France. As the places are limited, we invite you to come and see us for your definitive enrollment as soon as you arrive in France.
Our au pair lessons run throughout the academic year. Students can sign up for one term (1 academic year = 3 terms) or for one semester (1 academic year = 2 semesters). A one-off 40-euro enrolment charge will be made + a charge of between 20 and 25 euros for books. The 100 euro deposit paid at the time of pre-enrolment will be deducted from the total amount due.
Balance must be paid within the first two months following the start date. If the student needs a definitive enrolment certificate in order to obtain his/her residence permit from the immigration authorities, he must pay at least 300 euros.
For specialised courses (Tourism and Hotel Industry, Business French) and DELF/DALF preparation courses, extra costs will be involved for the examinations and books.

5. Deferment of dates
If the student is unable to start his/her courses at the date scheduled, he/she must inform the Institut Parisien in writing in the shortest possible time. Only in that event, and for the year in progress, shall he/she have the benefit of a deferment of dates.

6. Cancellation
In case of cancellation before the beginning of the course (due to no availability after September 16th or refusal of visa), the amount reimbursed will correspond to the deposit paid less a 40-euro cancellation charge. No refund after the beginning of the course.
