GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. Conditions of enrolment
Minimum 16 years of age (+ parental authorisation for persons under 18 years of age)
Valid Passport

2. Parental authorisation
Students under the age of 18 must complete and return the parental authorisation form by mail which will be sent to them along with the confirmation documents.

3. Insurance
Students are advised to take out supplementary insurance to cover the duration of their stay in France.

4. Certificate of enrolment / " Student " status
For students who are not citizens of a member country of the European Union and will spend more than three months in France must enrol on an intensive course (general or mixed) in order that the necessary steps be taken with the French Consulate in your country and with the immigration authorities in France. Said enrolment is nominative and may not be transferred to any other student.
As a Private Institution of Higher Education, our Institute is entitled to issue certificates of enrolment with a paper justifying the corresponding payment. The administrative steps vary from one country to another, therefore, we highly recommend that our students obtain information at the French Consulate in their country regarding the exact conditions for obtaining a visa.

5. Certificate of Study
The student must attend the courses with regularity. No Certificate of Study shall be delivered in the event that the student did not attend the courses regularly.

6. Public Holidays
No lessons will be given on the following public holidays (deducted from the total amount of lessons):
24 March 08 / 1 May 08 / 8 May 08 / 12 May 08 / 14 July 08
15 August 08 / 11 November 08.
Christmas and New Year: The Institut Parisien will not hold classes from 19 December 2008 to 5 January 2009.

7. Deferment of dates
If the student is unable to start his/her courses at the date planned, he/she must inform the Institut Parisien in writing within the shortest possible time. Only in that event and for the year in-progress, shall he/she have the benefit of a deferment of dates.

8. Cancellation charges for courses
More than 8 days before the beginning of the course: 40 euros
Less than 8 days before the beginning of the course: 1 week's course + 40 euros
After the course has begun: 100% of the course + 40 euros

Only the date on which the Institut Parisien receives the cancellation request will be taken into account.

Visa Refusal: in order to be refunded you must firstly return the original certificate of enrolment to us and inform us of the exact address of the French consulate where you made the request for a visa so that we can inform them of your cancellation.

9. Cancellation charges for accommodation in host families
More than 8 days before the date of arrival: 70 euros
Less than 8 days before the date of arrival: 1 full week's accommodation + 70 euros
After the date of arrival: 100% of the accommodation fees + 70 euros
Only the date on which the Institut Parisien receives the cancellation request will be taken into account.

10. Cancellation charges for accommodation in hotels
More than 48 hours before the date of arrival: 70 euros
Less than 48 hours before the date of arrival: 1 night + 70 euros
After the date of arrival : 100% of the accommodation fees + 70 euros

Only the date on which the Institut Parisien receives the cancellation request will be taken into account.

11. Cancellation charges for accommodation in hostels and International Students Residence
More than 60 days before the date of arrival: 30% of the accommodation fees + 70 euros
Less than 30 days before the date of arrival: 50% of the accommodation fees + 70 euros
Less than 30 days before the date of arrival: 100% of the accommodation fees + 70 euros

Only the date on which the Institut Parisien receives the cancellation request will be taken into account
