WORKSHOPS
A cultural and linguistic
complement that will give you a deeper insight into the French
language and its context
These workshops are designed for students
who already have a good knowledge of French
Maximum of 5 students per class for
effective teaching
Based on active student participation.
Students will be expected to carry out their own research
Possibility of signing up for several
discovery workshops and combining them with either intensive
lessons or language practise workshops.

Gastronomy
and the French “Art de Vivre” 6 hrs
This workshop takes a look at the three main aspects of French Gastronomy:
history of French Gastronomy, an insight into
the regions of France and their specialties, the
art of entertaining guests and the famous French “art de vivre”.
The workshop makes use of audio-visual material, period culinary and gastronomic
texts, press articles, information on present-day chefs as well as menus
and recipes.

Paris,
the world’s Fashion Capital 6 hrs
This workshop offers an historical, aesthetic and sociological approach
to French fashion, fashion designers and present-day trends through the
study of clothes and essential fashion accessories over the 20th century.
The workshop is based on audio-visual material, literary texts, numerous
photographic documents, press articles, biographies, news on the major fashion
houses and fashion shows.

This workshop paints a portrait of France and the French through their customs,
way of thinking, political, social and cultural institutions as well as
the media.
Amongst the varied subjects covered are the symbols of the French Republic,
French cultural exception, the school system, voting and elections.
The workshop is based on audio-visual material, statistical documents,
cartographical and photographic documents as well as press articles reflecting
the latest trends in French society.

the crossroads of art and creativeness 6 hrs
Modern and contemporary creativeness in France is the fruit
of artists from all over the world who have chosen Paris as a place of
expression and inspiration.
This workshop offers a panoramic view of artistic creativeness in Paris through architecture, painting and sculpture in the 20th and 21st centuries.
The workshop is based on audio-visual material, photographic
documents, press articles and analysis of various works.
